A Nigerian man went viral on social media yesterday for an extremely strange act. The man was streaming live on Instagram as he listened to 2Pac Shakur’s music (Hit Em Up), drank alcohol, displayed several weapons including a submachine gun and fired several rounds from his balcony.
The man, who was identified as Flexing Mike, a record company executive, was shouting, “Dem dey crase? Dem dey mad? I will disturb the peace of Great Britain today! Call me the f**king cops! I don blow tools everywhere now, dem no fit call the police. How can I shoot all this bullets, police did not come, them dey mad?”
Several witnesses down on the street also recorded the incident and posted the videos online. Some people on social media said that the act might be the result of mental illness caused by the coronavirus lock down.
Armed policemen later stormed the building. Luckily, some people at the entrance to the building told the police that they suspected that the guns were not real and this probably saved Flexing Mike’s life.
It is illegal to own an imitation gun in the UK, so Flexing Mike might still be in trouble even if it is determined that the guns are not real.
